been a bit busy lately, so i’ve been craving a nice watery painting to drink up.
sacrifice
Today I met a pine and she looked out,
Whilst I stood there her roots did stretch to me,
Dirt crept up my leg, brown, full of doubt.
My body down, she cried, ‘tis well, now see’.
So, from this distant hill, a new kin gazed.
New shapes were formed to raise relevance here,
This is a call of thanks to you they phrased.
Though they stated this, it was ripe with fear.
But all of a sudden she equalized,
And the land was a fitter place to dwell,
For his fall was a decent sacrifice.
The bones of his kin will forever swell.
I have been no sojourner since my fall.
A sacrifice fit for you, but you crawl.

See, I’m feeling slightly lost
When all of a sudden,
A blowing comes down my neck.
I’m cursing down my skin,
And you, you blow me north,
Homeward these shoes travel.
Like a sail,
Homeward.
